In DLP, blocking is the process of prohibiting a user or system from performing a requested action.
While typically referring to blocking users, modern DLP can also block actions requested by applications or processes. In addition, advanced DLP solutions can:
- isolate devices from the network,
- lock out user sessions,
- take screenshots (static/in motion),
- block uploads, and
- kill processes to protect sensitive information and stop attacks.
