Blocking

In DLP, blocking is the process of prohibiting a user or system from performing a requested action.

While typically referring to blocking users, modern DLP can also block actions requested by applications or processes. In addition, advanced DLP solutions can:

  • isolate devices from the network,
  • lock out user sessions,
  • take screenshots (static/in motion),
  • block uploads, and
  • kill processes to protect sensitive information and stop attacks.
